YEAR-ROUND ATTRACTIONS
- Within walking distance you can enjoy local attractions at the Muizenberg Putt Putt, mini swimming pools and water slide.
- The Muizenberg Village offers specialty shops, local pubs, coffee shops and restaurants.
- Learn to surf at Surfers Corner, which sports excellent surfing schools and warm oceans, just go for a walk on the long stretches of beach, or take a dip in the warm ocean.
Leaving your doorstep to explore, the biggest decision is whether to turn left towards Stellenbosch and the winelands or turn right on the coastal route towards Fish Hoek, Simons Town and Cape Point.
TURN LEFT
You will enjoy a beautiful drive on Baden Powel drive towards Stellenbosch and Somerset West, where you will discover wine farms, of which arguably one of the most famous, is Spier. Enjoy the cheetahs, birds, horse riding, crafts and of course excellent wines, food and picnic area.
There are countless wine farms and restaurants to choose from, one of our favorites is 96 winery road, for excellent food and great service.
TURN RIGHT
- Muizenberg is linked to St James by a concrete walkway along the ocean. Excellent for an envigorating walk or jog.
- St James and its fabulous tidal pools with the famous brightly-painted beach huts.
- Kalk bay harbour with excellent restaurants, fresh fish market. Catch the local ferry to Simons Town, curio and speciallity shops.
- Fish Hoek is known as a family friendly beach, safe for swimming.
- Glencairn beach and tidal pools.
- Boulders beach is for family enjoyment, take a walk along the boardwalk whilst enjoying the penguins.
- Simons Town full of naval history and stunning architecture, offers a large variety of activities including whale watching, shark cave diving, guided tours etc. Pop into the local info office for more details.
- Noordhoek beach is for the horse lover, enjoy an hour or two on horseback galloping along the beautiful beach.
- Cape Point nature reserve, enjoy a picnic, go for a walk, bird watching, or just relax in the restaurant after game viewing. On show are Zebra, the inevitable baboons, and small buck.
- Tokia forest is on your doorstep for those wishing to go mountain hikes, or mountain biking in the forest.
FOR THE GOLF LOVERS
Clovelly Country Club is one of the Capes best golf courses, right on your doorstep. Other nearby courses include, Westlake, Royal Cape, Strand, Somerset West and Spier.

Catch the train from Muizenberg to Simons Town,
enjoying the beautiful sea views as you travel, catch the sea ferry back to Kalk Bay!
